Mentioned in the replies, he’s swearing in service members. Glen was told that hours ago and has just left it up because retweets innit.

I read that as “Ceacescu was hot” and honestly thought that was a pretty niche taste from Daniel

It’s fake news (sorry), though, that he’s confused there though. He’s reading the oath for them to read, of course he says “state your name”

Funny old fish, AEH. Born in my hometown, I was put off him at school (and after learning Enoch Powell was a big fan), but he does have a way with words. We read this at my Dad's funeral... www.poemtree.com/poems/FromFa...

Housman had some bangers didn’t he? Look at that, 8 lines long and two phrases that became immortal. Fair play, AE.

Absolutely. You can argue *why* Israel did this, from the jaundiced “they didn’t want anyone to see what they were doing” all the way through to the optimistic “they wanted to protect reporters”, but an over reliance on local “reporters” would always be a consequence

Israel also refuses to allow reporters into Gaza so a lot of time reports are second hand

The latter, because it’s a complex and challenging news environment and the sources you are relying on in that situation are broadly captured by one side or another, so as long as there are sufficient caveats (“X organisation says Y”) I don’t actually see what you can do.

You can - *absolutely* - argue there are problems with the “reporting the truth” element in any news report and I will listen. But if you are telling me the BBC needs to be balanced in its reporting of global news, I need to ask you “why”? It never has been.
November 10, 2025 at 8:43 AM
So the BBC is biased against Donald Trump? Ok? Fine? It’s also biased against Vladimir Putin or Erdogan or Orban or or or, your point being?
