It's moves like this that reveal the silver lining of US withdrawal from WHO, even amidst the damage done by this rogue state (there and elsewhere - see recent estimates of 600,000 deaths already due to USAID shutdown).
I’m here in Polokwane and the US just blocked a G20 Health Minister declaration, refused to include UHC or Equity because, well, they don’t believe in universal, taxes, equity, or solidarity they say

Unfiltered indeed!
A fairly unfiltered statement from the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control Secretariat on the attempts by the tobacco industry to influence the Conference of Parties

The genocide against the Palestinian people is the clearest example of an economic system rooted in colonial practices.

We took to the streets in Geneva in solidarity with the Palestinian people, alongside thousands to demand an end to corporate complicity.

#StopCorporateImpunity & #FreePalestine
Corporate climate criminals like Chevron, Total and Shell and their financiers, continue to build their empire on Palestinian lives.

In solidarity with the Palestinian people, we call on movements and people everywhere to pressure those who fuel and profit from the genocide to end their complicity.

Download the FOE report "The TNC Lobby: Foxes in the Henhouse" (linked below), which "exposes how transnational corporations like Chevron, Shell and Total convert their economic might into political power."
The #CorporateLobby gives transnational corporations a seat at the table in multilateral spaces

Affected communities should be at the heart of the #BindingTreaty meant to regulate TNCs, not the corporations that threaten their lives, land and rights

Shaping the knowledge structure/environment: what research questions get asked, what research is done (and how) to answer those questions, and what findings get published and where/how. All of this shapes preferences and policies that affect the public interest.

Really wish @cbcradiocanada.bsky.social was highlighting that Canada's military ally is apparently abandoning the rules of engagement, instead of focusing on the gender-neutral, "male-level" fitness standards part of Hegseth's speech 🙄
Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement."
