Earlier this year I discovered a new band (to me), Water From Your Eyes, who is really fun and interesting. Their new "album" 'It’s a Beautiful Place' is popping up on all kind of year-end best of lists. It is great, but, it's NOT an album. It should be classified as an EP.

Admittedly I haven't been following Of Monsters and Men for awhile but I've been digging the singles from their upcoming LP. Then they dropped a new 8-min track "Fruit Bat" last week and it has wrecked me. Just found this live performance of it and oh so beautiful: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXC6...

Wild and surreal weekend seeing Poor Old Lu, the Prayer Chain, and Mortal. My high school senior self, who would have called them 3 of my top 5 fav bands of the time 30 years ago, wouldn’t believe it. “Bright Wings” with @dkthedrummer.bsky.social still feels like a dream!

New Fantastic Four film was fun, really enjoyed it. Best Marvel film of the last 5 (?) years maybe? I know the bar is low. But it was simple and direct and the 60's set pieces were terrific. Money well spent.
