The media keeps pushing the lie that fossil fuels are cheaper than renewables. They’re not. CSIRO and AEMO show solar and wind are far cheaper. The fossil fuel lobby funds the lie, and half our grid’s already renewable. The transition’s happening, like it or not.

Big storm outbreak north coast and adjacent inland NSW, right up into QLD, they copped it last night and earlier today. Hail up to 7cm. Right now at the Clarence R. Mouth, it’s dark, humid and rumbling. Supercells a strong possibility.

Picked this up on a regular visit to Launceston, from shiploads. It keeps me motivated on long hot days in the sun, that, and the mantra: Monday is payday. 😁 like me, it’s starting to fade.

The Albanese govt can find $368 billion for submarines we’ll be lucky to ever see, but can’t provide very modest amounts of funding for our world-leading, Nobel Prize winning researchers.

Cutting funding to Lucas Heights and the Melbourne synchrotron is shortsighted and wasteful.
Budget cuts ‘threaten Nobel Prize-generating research’
The government may close one-of-a-kind instruments at the synchrotron in Melbourne and Lucas Heights reactor in Sydney.

0530, birds calling out to each other - presumably to see who made it through the night. Stars are still out but the eastern sky is brightening. No clouds and half a bright moon. It really is the best time of day.

It’s 11am I’m spent, after fungicide/pesticide drenches there is very little energy in the tank. Sinus infection not helping. 6 hours on surf patrol yesterday also catching up. Tomorrow will always be a better day.
