Kicking up a gale, with dust from the road. Getting that storm brewing look to the northwest. That wind is dry and hot.

Noticed this upriver shopping in Grafton: tall bunya pine(Araucaria Bidwillii) right and the lilac symbol of the upper Clarence valley, the sth American jacaranda(jacaranda mimosafolia) left. Pre-colonial and post colonial.

Picked this up on a regular visit to Launceston, from shiploads. It keeps me motivated on long hot days in the sun, that, and the mantra: Monday is payday. 😁 like me, it’s starting to fade.

13t(10cu) sand in soil shed. Supplier has issues with equipment to blend sand/soil.
Joys of Greenkeeping in the regions. Maintenance guru, Sean, piloted the bobcat like a pro. No rain for 5 weeks growth at snail pace.

Could be coincidence but I’m suspecting our village likes Mazdas. L/R, cx5, cx30, 2&3.

Forgot to add an image post fertilising. Will water before dawn tomorrow - grand final day yesterday put it off a day.

Long day: 0500 start. Verti-drain contractor arrived 1430. Club pairs semi on other green only given a few hours notice of. Waiting for guru to finish then I can roll any turf that gets lifted up, down. Should get home by sundown.

Too tired to wrap up today’s brooming and cutting of the stubble. Did manage to ID this sap sucker: bronze orange bug (musgraviea sulciventris). These trees are predominantly ornamental and after flowering will spray with light dose of bifenthrin.

80 barrows later, scarifying done. Edge out to about 1M needs more attention. Then guru comes on with vert-drain, hopefully tomorrow.

5hp Honda has seen 31 renovation seasons. The original B&S unit threw a rod through the block in ‘94. Change oil every year and clean/replace air filter at correct intervals.

Halfway mark in scarification. Now, just have to pick this lot up and dump.
September 29, 2025 at 1:56 AM
Spring renovation has begun. Scarifying to remove thatch, among other benefits. Renno’ season 40 for I, 32 at this club. I’m due time off for good behaviour.

On way to watch K’s grandkids in concert, noticed a contrail contrasting against the evening spring sky. Didn’t get to see the concert - already standing room only when I arrived. Been to long a day to stand.
