There are very few people that make me feel smarter every time I hear them talk, but Jay is one of those people. I don't know how so much knowledge and experience has been crammed into Jay's life, but the fact that Jay chooses to share those insights with the rest of us is a gift.

Mutual Aid and you get something out of it

Anyone can make a TTRPG. Anyone can post it, share it with friends, encourage their discords to check it out. Anyone can make something for themselves or their pals, for its own sake. All you need is a word processor.

Becoming a full time fundraiser and book publishing house is not as easy as that.

Why do I find mastermind skeletons named Steve hilarious?

Why smell a flower? Why bake bread? Why anything? Sometimes you just gotta go with the silliest flow.

If you don't think that an android reading poetry about his cat is the peak of scifi, I don't know what to tell you. His friends also razzing him for how bad his poetry is - also the pinnacle of science fiction. This is why Star Trek TNG can only be equaled, never surpassed.

People in publishing who tell you or cause you to feel they can harm your career if you displease them almost never have that power. Especially in science fiction and fantasy. Especially in the short story field.
