But capitalists hate those things, because happy, fulfilled people buy less stuff and resource share. So. Burn the planet for more AI shit (that makes him more money)it is, I guess. 😐

If we wanna be serious about this, people need to be paid better and worked less so they have time and energy to pursue hobbies—which lead to social connections and friends.

So…he just wants something to prattle at that acknowledges him inna way he likes once in a while? That’s bleak.

I’m very unlikable and have still managed to have a couple super close friends and then maintain friendships of varying degrees with a good number of other people.

I think everyone has forgotten why impeaching Nixon took so long: his VP, Agnew, was a problem too. It wasn’t until he resigned that Nixon was finally gone after.

I have real mixed feelings about impeaching Orange while Vance is still in play. Vance has all the theobro billionaire connections.

I did not learn the origins of tipped service work until about 10 years ago? (Maybe not quite that long.) Once I understood the why, the light turned on and released another level of “radicalization.” We live in the cruelest society.

I hated that movie when I saw it back in the day. My vote is NUUU.

I still think of this often: it was the beginning of my realization of how fucked and greedy corporations really are. Those burgers kept increasing in price, but the wages stayed the same.

The wage problem isn’t that the food doesn’t cost enough.

I remember thinking, “if they raised the price $0.02 per burger and the companies matched that from profits, that would be an amazing, immediate wage increase of 50% and make such a difference.” Because even then, I would have happily split that difference to fund better lives for service workers.
