I have been working on this project for about 14 months now: I’m finally to the blocking phase for these 6 10-stitch modular squares. Now I get to figure out how I want to put them together and work on sashings + a border. I’m hoping to finish before the year is up.

Two years ago today, I was recovering from my tonsillectomy when I got The Call.

Been married to this goofball 22 years as of today. We’ve been fortunate to grow in parallel directions as we’ve aged, and I hope we continue to. He’s a good egg, and I kinda like him.🖤

(Wanted a fresh selfie, but he had to rush off on an investigation, so one from a couple months ago it is. )

More ladies in their 60s killing people who deserve it? Don’t mind if I do!

Guess I’m gonna be maskin’ ‘til I die, then. Hope more of y’all restart doing it too. Way too many of you are comfortable raw doggin’ the covid/flu/measles air and seeing what happens.

Mid-February State of The Chonk for my journal/planner. She gonna be hefty by the end.

Drove up to Montgomery today, and man, it really *is* a lot nicer out of the southern part of the state. Had this new-to-me toy cleaned and serviced, decided to join Costco to bulk shop 1x a month, and got to eat lunch out (not great). Solid day with my spouse-bestie.

Current read. I had started writing penpal letters in 2023 during my treatment, but lost my ability to focus and correspond most of 2024. I’m just about ready to dive back in—I’m hoping—and this is giving some nice inspiration. Aesthetically lovely book.

My script has changed just enough that it’s getting to be time to replace them: it makes me so sad. I will miss my weird glasses that give me bug eyes. With a mask and hood, they scream Plague Doctor. (Oh look: same hoodie I’m wearing today, even.)

Thank you! They’re an over-decade old pair I got from Warby Parker. They’re partially held together with a jump ring after they lost a screw. 🫡

Took a little stupid walk for my stupid mental health while my son was at his work meeting.

S’pose I can do something other than reshare posts.

Been doing some reading to wrapu up January. The theme seems to be pink horror novellas. The Night Guest is a solid read; the translation is smooth, well-done. It’s creepy and just the right amount of disturbing without leaning too hard into it.

Life is short and everything is awful: make your journal or planner as cute as you want.

We live about 90 minutes north of the Gulf, and this is what it looked like last night after the snow stopped. Everything is closed down through tomorrow, while temps stay frigid. It’s going to barely melt then hard freeze a couple times. Fuuuun.

I would wear nothing BUT ghosts if I could—and I can!

I made a temperature tracking cross stitch in 2020; it turned out fine and is fairly small and inexpensive to make. I am not sold on the idea of the blankets. It’s a lot of big chunks of single colors.

The light is low in here right now, but I think it’s clear enough to illustrate the point. 🤷🏻‍♀️
