Today I joined the #NoKings protest in Springfield, Illinois.

Because the actions of this administration don’t just happen in Washington — they reach into our homes, our families, our work, and our communities.

I am proudly American — and I will proudly stand up when I disagree.

Last week's Finance for Development (#FfD4) conference in #Seville proposed bold initiatives, but little commitment.

New paper on anticipatory cash transfers to herders during an extreme winter in Mongolia. ACTs have significant positive effects for poorer recipients, not so much for the rest of our sample.

Personal learnings: Anticipatory action is promising. Targeting matters. More research is needed.

🙏Thank you, @ts-jenkins.bsky.social and Lukas Laube. This is an excellent discussion on the importance of life-saving early warning systems (EWS).
As prevention is better than cure, it is better to protect people from natural disasters before they strike.

It's important the American public realize they are being subjected to an organized campaign of political "shock & awe". The purpose of Trump's cabinet picks & litany of maximalist policy proposals is to overwhelm the psychological capacities of the public, denting their abilities to oppose him.
