I see the end of opposing fossil fuels and the start of flat-out ignoring greenhouse gas emissions as a catastrophic ideological position and I want to ensure that the climate movement doesn't fall into that trap any deeper than parts of it already have.

Like these problems have been around for a while, but ChatGPT presents a unique temptation for students. I think if it existed 50 years ago we’d see a lot of the same issues. Or in other words, I think ChatGPT is a problem in and of itself, alongside larger structural/institutional issues.

Anyway if all you have is “doesn’t pass the pub test” try harder. Or push for all spending rules to be changed if you feel so enraged.
