I'm often amazed at how much typing I've saved myself by using `dput(names())` when working with #RStats.

I wrote about this back in 2024, and I was reminded about it's utility again today: www.collinberke.com/til/posts/20...

Reminds me of when they pushed Jupyter notebooks over markdown in an IDE, then turned around and claimed only R users would use a notebook 😭

A chart showing median home price (in $100,000 increments) from 1967 to 2021 with a trend on same y-axis for "real weekly wages". The home price trend goes up. The weekly wages trend is flat at what appears to be zero, because weekly wages are small in terms of $100,000.

Claude writes #rstats code like it's python. It loves for loops and seems incapable of understanding vectorized operations, matrix math, etc. It ignores all the efficient ways of doing things in R. Great for simple tasks, but I'm running into limits.

If Rstudio would allow people to execute Python in a Python interpreter (without reticulate) using the same keyboard shortcuts afforded to .R and .sh files (ctrl+enter) this plot would go to the moon

Is #rstats dead? I don’t think so.
