Today was a great day for our annual lab hike up Mt Monadnock (NH). A great team building activity and fun to take many students who have never hiked or climbed a mountain before!

It was a real privilege and pleasure to return to the University of Iowa to honor my mentor at the dedication of the Thomas D Brown Biomechanics Research Lab. The fact that 13 of his 19 former PhD students attended says a lot about the lasting impact of his mentorship. @karenkruger.bsky.social

AIMBE has developed a new advocacy letter on the changes to NIH indirect cost rates: aimbe.org/advocate/wri...

We urge the broader biomedical research community to customize this letter (<1 minute) to contact your congressional representatives about the severe consequences of this new policy 👇

not paying indirect costs for research is like only paying the players in the Super Bowl.

can't have a Super Bowl without coaches, referees, security, janitors, announcers, stadium staff, and a stadium - and you can't have research without supporting people and facilities

One of the best parts of my job is seeing the impact that I can have on my students. One former undergrad just stopped by my office with this lovely keychain they made for me -- in my favorite color and complete with my lab name (MBL - musculoskeletal biomechanics lab) and a foot skeleton!

Hi all - here's to hoping that this platform doesn't get overrun with anti-science, anti-respect-for-all-people right wing conspirators. Will occasionally post science stuff here.
