Frustrating to be sure, but why are we villainizing the hold-outs who were on the fence but not the 48 senators who got in line without batting an eye? IMHO they are far worse.

I try to keep politics out of the lab but the current administration's attacks on science and higher education directly impact the work we do. For example, NOH cancelled the URISE program that provided access and support for undergraduate students to engage in biomedical research.

Dr Brown taught me a lot. Here are four key things:
1. Find great clinical collaborators who can be equal partners
2. Think outside the box and expand what is possible
3. Be rigorous with your science and attentive to the details
4. Tell it like it is, both good and bad.

The only thing that makes me hopeful about this is that it will cause the right wing to implode itself more quickly as they begin to realize the far reaching consequences. Then again, maybe they'll all be too busy drinking raw milk and injecting themselves with bleach to notice.
