fyi by "genuinely unplayable" i am not doing a comedic exaggeration. it is physically impossible to play it. if you play as anyone other than the shogun the game kicks you out on january 1 1400 because the sengoku situation is coded in a blatant "let's just get this to function at all and go" way
like there's visible grammar issues, mechanics that straight up just clearly aren't done, japan is actually genuinely unplayable, multiple nearly game-breaking bugs (thank fuck they're avoidable), graphical glitches...

eu5 is a great game. i really love the core game and its base systems and i think they're amazing to build on, in a way other pdox releases like vicky 3 have honestly never been, except maybe ck3 activities
but this game was released blatantly unfinished

i'm realising the way we're writing nihil novi will probably be some friction to people in terms of structure specifically. a lot of the choices you get to make don't like... alter your path, they just change large swathes of dialogue and prose
