I have been playing a Neo in a PBP campaign of DIE and it's absolutely popping off. The system is so good at driving character development and generating dramatic moments. We're in the final arc and all the bosses are dark echoes of the party and it's. So good.

So I am very hyped for the new comic!

It falls under noodle soups, which are like, a major category of soups, so... yes.

They're not really Magic cards, they're just event materials printed on cardstock.

It's a classic case of multicolor giving you a better rate. If this were a monocolor card, it would probably have to cost more and/or have a lower p/t.

Poor choice of card image tbh, I would've gone with one of these. Llanowar Elves *is* the par.

I mean, I wouldn't run it in every deck. I'm not even sure I'd run it in any deck. The card's good, but it's hardly a staple—you're not exactly guaranteed to have good things to recur with it. And even if you do, it's still only one card in your 99.

I remember this same type of statement trotted out to insist that Bosh, Iron Golem and Thelon of Havenwood needed to be illegal as commanders in order to preserve the spirit of the format.

You mean these?

If more people are playing 3 MV mana rocks instead of signets and talismans, is that really all that bad?
October 23, 2025 at 5:09 PM
Well, synergy-artifact includes things like "Sacrifice an artifact" and "Artifacts you control have [keyword]" and "Give an artifact +1/+1." Would synergy-creature still be useful to you if it was as broad as all that? That would include, like, almost every equipment, for example.

Everyone using ChatGPT says they are being responsible and always double check it, blah blah, but somehow real life (job applications, college essays, people arguing online, legal fillings, computer code) is full of ChatGPT output that clearly nobody checked. What a bizarre mystery

Columbo is sort of a cautionary tale for why you should never talk to the police, really.

Guy Who Did It: "I need to get ahead of this investigation and throw off suspicion. I should pretend to help this bumbling detective."

Counterpoint, you should say nothing unless your lawyer is present!

I gotta say, the turtle shell as a riff on the "commander shield" set symbol is a stroke of brilliance. Love it.

The people who want a two-color deck can still play a two-color deck. They can even still use Leo as the commander. But in order for five-color decks to even be possible, there has to be a five-color legend. The color identity rules force the designers' hands.
October 11, 2025 at 4:58 PM
As long as Commander has color identity restrictions, players are inevitably going to demand legends who will let them run all the new cards together. So the choices are a) get ahead of it and print the 5c legends, b) knowingly disappoint people, or c) abolish color identity.
