Former Children’s Poet Laureate Kenn Nesbitt put together a collection of all-new poetry. My favorite: “Seagull Beach Party” by Sophie Masson; “The Seventeen Fitz Sisters” by Andrea Perry and “On Adopting A Pet Elephant” by Linda Ashman & “How To Live Forever” by Judith Viorst.

The library wants “One Minute till Bedtime - 60 Second Poems To Send You Off To Sleep” back. I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’d love to have the book but I’ve promised myself to read the books I currently own & send them out into the world for others to enjoy & NOT buy any more books!

Escapism reading - the 3rd Lakeside Library Mystery by Holly Danvers: “Road To Death At The Lakeside Library.” Although I consider it a “light” mystery, I didn’t figure out “whodunnit” until our librarian sleuths did!

When you connect the dots & figure out who’s getting the tax dollars, it helps you understand why there is an affordability crisis in #Florida.
When are folks gonna demand better at the ballot box ? Florida needs a big change, families deserve better.

Can you hit repost? Marjorie Taylor Greene doesn't want you to know the name of her opponent but will try every desperate attempt to save her seat.

I’m now ready to read the entire “Death” series of 62 books - after reading the 1st book, of course. Lt. Eve Dallas is the cop heroine of this set of mysteries set in the future who must solve some gruesome murders where even her wealthy boyfriend, Roark, becomes a suspect.

July 4th found me finishing “Glory In Death” (Nora Roberts authors these mysteries under the name J. D. Robb.). I had not read the 1st book in the series (“Naked in Death”) so I could tell I’d missed something as I was reading. This futuristic mystery kept me guessing throughout!

How do I escape an earthquake if I’m on a multilevel bridge in a car or in a high rise building or????
As I was finishing “Tilt”, I told my daughter I needed to get serious about a disaster plan/supplies. Her mother-in-law just ordered her ready-to-eat meal disaster kit after viewing a TV show.

“Tilt,” a novel by Emma Pattee is my latest read-a terrifying read because it is a disaster that could really happen here in the Pacific NW & I’m not sure any amount of disaster preparedness will help. Growing up in Kansas I always had a basement be safe in the event of a tornado.

“One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This” by Omar El Akkad is a tough but important read. My library’s synopsis: “From award-winning journalist & novelist comes a powerful reckoning with what it means to live in the heart of an empire that doesn’t consider you fully human.”

“One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This” Omar El Akkad’s tweet on 10/25/23: “One day, when it’s safe, when there’s no personal downside to calling a thing what it is, when it’s too late to hold anyone accountable, everyone one will always have been against this.”

I love seeing the massive #NoKings turnouts in major cities, but what I love even more are the hundreds and hundreds of small, rural towns that had relatively bigger turnouts compared to their populations 💙🙏
