Hard science fiction devotee. Thinker, tinkerer, seeker of patterns in chaos. Lapsed digital minimalist.
My prediction based on the escalation rate and the attitudes being displayed by MAGATs, by the end of the summer we will see a US protest in which you will need your fingers and toes to count the number of protestors killed.

Is it possible to be allergic to certain vibes?

if i tattoo my worst memory on my arm does that count as offloading trauma?

This is such an interesting little time capsule of that moment in time when ChatGPT launched and blew all our minds. It's also evident how much the various LLMs have moved on in some ways but are still making the same mistakes in others. Written by Andy Stanton of Mr Gum fame, so it's hilarious.

How long till the rise of Canadian Freedom Fighters? At some point the rhetoric from Trump will make certain bits of US infrastructure legitimate preemptive targets in plenty of people's eyes.

Raising money to airdrop propaganda leaflets and USBs showing what life is like in the democratic world, away from the control of their dear leader. With your donations we can reach more Republicans.

@aptshadow.bsky.social Spoilers for Shroud: The Shrouded's development made me think of a possible similar future for Earth when our AI models end up converging. On that note, have you written anything near future dealing with extrapolating from where ML is at the moment to where we might be soon?

Take heart that we are not definitely in the darkest timeline until we invent life extension technologies while Trump is still alive. There's still hope he keels over in the next few years and doesn't get to become undying God-Emperor of Mankind.

A vision board, except it's for the entire population of the Earth and the only entry on it is Trump's rotting corpse?

Well I haven't needed to crack open Elinks style text based terminal web browsers since about 2002, but they actually pair really well with LLM coding agents like Cline and Roo. All pages are rendered in text only, so they can look things up (not Bsky!) autonomously and cheaply. No need for MCP.

So what chapter in the 'The History of Fall of the United States of America' do we think Elon's teenage 4chan hackers breaking the federal payments system will be in. We need a snappy name for the whole debacle.

The worst part of the oncoming technological singularity and the promise of life extension is the possibility of being stuck for eternity in the same universe as you lot.

The Ralphie/Scut Farkus reconciliation arc is the Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy arc we never really got.

The real blockchain is grandmas giving you $10 at Christmas: untaxed, untraceable, decentralised. Every transaction backed by the gold standard of butterscotch and guilt that you didn't call her.

Only 300 sleeps to go until I power up the Christmas2025 gift tracking spreadsheet. This year added pivot tables tracking total spend per child to ensure I don't accidentally reveal which one I like the best. Will be running the Christmas retro session on the 26th and look forward to their feedback

The real Interstellar is me hearing the leftovers calling to me from the fridge before I’ve even put them there.
The real hunger games is me stumbling tired and stoned into my kitchen to get a late night snack without turning the lights on and two cats running under my feet the whole way

One new...two...news? Is it really that simple?! Im spiralling.

So we've reached the 'grading our own papers' phase of the fifth estate's full assimilation by the incoming administration. Looking forward to quarterly updates on corn quotas being smashed across all oblasts.

When he is found not guilty next year, does Luigi:

1. hit the bro podcast circuit
2. appear on a late night talk show
3. run for office
4. not commit murder against another CEO?

If there's an equivalent of the 'freshman 15' that forty year old men can get every year, that's what i've got.

95% of the interactions online take the form of:

Person 1 makes a point A.
Person 2 deliberately misconstrues point 1 so that they can angrily refute it and promote their pet favourite talking point B.
We never get to a real discussion of point A.

Was watching old footage of the manufacture of Roses chocolates in the 60s. The tins were huge, and yet despite replacing 1000s of workers with robots Cadburys want to convince me they had no choice but to shrink the tins? That tin was apparently over 3kg of Chocolates vs just over half a kilogram.
