Hard science fiction devotee. Thinker, tinkerer, seeker of patterns in chaos. Lapsed digital minimalist.
This is such an interesting little time capsule of that moment in time when ChatGPT launched and blew all our minds. It's also evident how much the various LLMs have moved on in some ways but are still making the same mistakes in others. Written by Andy Stanton of Mr Gum fame, so it's hilarious.

Well I haven't needed to crack open Elinks style text based terminal web browsers since about 2002, but they actually pair really well with LLM coding agents like Cline and Roo. All pages are rendered in text only, so they can look things up (not Bsky!) autonomously and cheaply. No need for MCP.

Was watching old footage of the manufacture of Roses chocolates in the 60s. The tins were huge, and yet despite replacing 1000s of workers with robots Cadburys want to convince me they had no choice but to shrink the tins? That tin was apparently over 3kg of Chocolates vs just over half a kilogram.

I started watching Thundercats at about the same time as I saw the film Poltergeist for the first time age 7. So I misheard the intro and was convinced that Mumm-Ra transforming from 'this decayed form' was actually 'Mr Kane form' the skeletal evil preacher.

Any other crossovers you've created?

Post a perfect album from the '90s that isn't Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or Alice in chains
