I don't argue with people online anymore. I say what I need to say and get out. I'm happy to engage with folks acting in good faith, but I've accepted that we're living in a time of anti-intellectualism.

Been sitting on this for a bit: I’m joining the ACLU of Virginia as Policy Counsel! Feels full circle to return to where I began my civil rights career, this time in my home state. Grateful and ready to fight for a more just, inclusive Virginia 💙

Today I put in notice at job after nearly 3 years. It's been the honor of a lifetime to support grassroots campaigns challenging the systems that criminalize and cage our communities and working to abolish them.

HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

"In a twisted feat of logic, police trumpet claims that violence is on the rise--evidence of their own failure to prevent it in spite of the billions invested in them--as a reason they need more cops, more cash, more laws, and of course, less scrutiny and less accountability."

"Capitalists need policing the most--to protect their property, billions, businesses, and borders by arresting the whom they've exploited, excluded, and extracted from the most."

Eric Adams hates workers and is a cop in case you missed it.

So I'm reading more about #CarleeRussell and what I will say is, y'all are unsurprisingly so quick to believe cops and the general public is typically v apathetic about Black women who go missing. So y'all's outrage is confusing and just another example of you just hating us.

Three free audiobooks for Prime members! Offer ends 7/31. I definitely prefer physical books but some books, especially the longer ones, might be easier to get through as audiobooks. So, I used my first credit on a book I've already started- The Love Songs of W.E.B Du Bois.

Very bad decision for sex workers as FOSTA not only violates the 1A by chilling protected speech, but it makes sex work more dangerous.

Very excited to rebuild a brand new persona like here like you do when you leave your small town behind for college in the big city.

I remember not feeling smart enough in law school because I just couldn't accept the law as it was taught to me. I constantly wondered why and what if. I felt angry all the time and I couldn't understand why my classmates weren't. I wonder if they're feeling outraged yet.

An abolitionist affirmation for the week: "I refuse to give my power to a coward, bully, or a colonizer."
