Struggling to know what to say to someone who hates "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" but thinks "Home Alone" is a masterpiece. In genre and execution, they're about a tenth of a degree apart. This is like hating cake but liking cupcakes.

Thinking about my grandfather Ernest Victor Adams and great uncle Ralph Adams, who served in the Second World War. Gramp was an infantryman in the C.B. Highlanders, fighting in Italy, Belgium & the Netherlands; Ralph was a merchant mariner. Both survived the war, dying a few months apart in 2005–6.
