How long until the Library of Congress faces a purge? Should historians be getting what resources they can now? I'm imagining anything related to the civil rights movement, anti-fascism, and even public health could be gone soon.

Agreed!

Block on your personal experiences.
PSA and Urgent Request:

Can we please chill with the block lists? Right-wingers are adding us to these lists, and we’re accidentally blocking each other.

Block people based on your own interactions, not from pre-made lists. Let’s not divide ourselves unnecessarily!

Next up, SpEd kids, girls sports, and gifted programs get body slammed by the Dept of Education.

Which states get the most % of their money from US Dept of Education? Versus that state’s Trump vote. Red states hurt themselves the most if they eliminate the Dept of Education.

Public education has long been the great equalizer.

Incredibly unsurprising it’s been under sustained attack.

An informed electorate is the core of American democracy, and the folks who want to take away your freedoms necessarily have to take away access to education as a means to their ends.
New followers: As we wait to see who Trump picks to lead (and/or dismantle) the federal Education Department, let me tell you about the book I wrote.

It investigates the origins of the “anti-woke,” “anti-CRT,” anti-trans movement that Trump tried to tap into.

Here's what I found 🧵

Whatever justification the incoming administration is giving for wanting to dismantle the Dept of Education, please know that the end result will include students with disabilities losing their right to an education, including losing support & services like speech therapy that they receive at school
As a former #SpecialEd attorney, I just want to be sure people get it.

Federal funds for students with #Disabilities will also disappear when the Department of Education does. And with #Medicaid at risk, so do related services (therapies etc). This is Trump’s plan.

You left ADAPT out of this? Perhaps you're unfamiliar with some of their iconic work like the Capitol Crawl:

Or the first time Trump tried to kill access to healthcare via the ACA so ADAPT staged a die in

Good morning, Bluesky. Today’s #GoodMorningNews: a trial at Washington University’s school of medicine has shown great results for a vaccine that would prevent recurrence for a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer. It’s a small trial, but 3 years later 16/18 participants remain cancer free
