No, the DOE makes sure that IDEA is being followed for children with disabilities and they fund special ed. The states can give want they want to those programs or nothing at all ..with no federal oversight they can dismantle it all and the most vulnerable children will suffer.

The USDA controls school lunches. DOE funds children like my grandson with autism with his special programs such as IEPs and other programs. Also doe gives Pell grants and other funding for college. Also they make sure IDEA regulations are being followed for children with disabilities.

It has served many children with autism and other disabilities such as my grandson with a IEP and other programs he needs. Without the DOE there's no watching to see if states fund these programs and some states simply will not!
