The Samaritan reading tradition takes *אלהי as cstr. of sing. אלה rather than of אלהים (The Samaritan Pentateuch, Florentin and Tal, p. 50).
It looks like there an instance of this in the Secunda as well:

? Etymology of שׂאר

Most agree it refers to sourdough starter, but the etym is unclear. It may share a root with משׁארת. If so, Propp thinks to repoint as משׂארת. Also poss is that שׂאר was really שׁאר - "remainder" — a fitting term for a starter left from a prior batch. Anyone have insight on this?
