Let's update your legacy system bit by bit—no need to throw everything out and start from scratch.

This is the way. If you don’t fix your underlying problems (normally of change safety), you’ll be back rewriting your software every few years. It’s a waste.
Let's update your software systems bit by bit—no need to throw everything out and start from scratch.

Give us a holler if you want to talk more about what that means for you, your team, and your codebase.

I am begging people, from game devs to game journalists, to regular players: Stop equivocating difficulty options with accessibility.

While difficulty options can make a game more accessible as a side effect, they are are not a substitute for real accessibility options.
If a dev adds difficulty options to make their game more accessible for players then that’s a huge win.

if anyone sees this post, it's gonna be really unpopular but I wish we got as serious about road safety as we do about airplane safety

every week, ~800 people, about two planes' worth, die in traffic in the U.S.

Predictive text models do not ever "answer your question"

They predict what an answer to your question would probably look like.

Which is very, very, very different
I don’t think it can be emphasized enough that large language models were never intended to do math or know facts; literally all they do is attempt to sound like the text they’re given, which may or may not include math or facts. They don’t do logic or fact checking — they’re just not built for that
Unfortunately, it repeatedly offers incorrect answers for straightforward math questions. 🧪
