This one for eg. Geriatric, bad bone. No landmarks to put the head back on the shaft. Back table recon then *holds up thumb* put it back in.

Im constantly surprised what lives and unites. Exsitu recons don’t seem a risk factor in my hands

It’s always the unsuspecting ones which seem to go on to avn/nonunion etc imho

My position is: a buttress plate is redirecting load through the plate (in bending/compression) to a site remote from the zone of injury. An AG plate facilitates load bearing through the zone of injury
