I’ve been posting all year that all trans, NB, and genderqueer people need to have an exit plan, just in case. This is the 11th hour. You may decide it’s time to leave, but at least be prepared to get out quick. This account’s profile only has resources related to emigration, focused on queer folx.

Thank you to posters who brought the controversy over the term “expat” to my attention. While it has elitist connotations, I thought it also provided a measure of dignity to trans people who don’t feel welcome in their home countries. But I am now migrating toward the term “immigrant”.

I moved to Canada from the US, but was disappointed to discover that many Canadian trans people were thinking of moving out if the Conservatives won a majority in national elections. Thank you to Trump for keeping Liberals in power! BC is still a great place for trans+ people!

Some people are concerned that they will be abandoned in the US since they don’t have the financial means to leave. But many people who don’t have much are able to leave with some creativity and planning. Here is one avenue for those with the physical ability. wwoof.net

THEY'RE GOING TO ISSUE PERMANENT VISA BANS TO TRANS VISITORS TO THE US.

This isn't just for athletes. The directive as stated applies to all visa applications made by trans folks and declare it material fraud to use a different gender marker on applications.
