Mostly a lurker. Supports Ukraine
There should - because the flag represents the people and the country Pete is from. It does not represent the Russian boot-licking current government of South Africa.
I'm proud of Pete, and also of the fact that he rescued some of South Africa's reputation

In a republic where every citizen understood their civic duties, every citizen would automatically permanently boycott the companies on this list.
Because Apple, Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft are not 1st time offenders in supporting corruption and fascism with their money.

Those who care about climate action and other progressive causes should acknowledge that as a petro-state Russia has been promoting and supercharging the right across the world under Putin.

Yeah right - no respect for facts from you either. Musk is not an Afrikaner. His family were immigrants to South Africa, and like most white immigrants they associated with English speaking white South Africa.
Also, to associate Afrikaners with Nazism is like associating Americans with the KKK

If the EU continues subsidizing Hungary while it supports Russia, then I can only conclude most European presidents and ministers are not really leaders at all.

This will soon be forgotten by most, including Trump. He makes noises like this to distract from other things like Russia's war on Ukraine and the Epstein revelations

Yeah, he'll be a cruel vicious president, utterly controlled by some of the worst vultures in the world. I don't underestimate that.

Though I do judge his ability to hold MAGA together to be poor. He's a particularly dull and charmless fascist for a crowd who wants a memeable reality TV presidency.

It seems like we live in a time of uniquely weak leadership. This must be why we are still waiting.

He isn't out of touch, he is upwardly mobile and this is him adapting his position to what his current boss requires.

Also: thank you Joni for discussing the traitors. Of those who write and speak about Ukraine, you are one of a few who does this. During WWII and other major wars, people learned that they could not just ignore traitors. We still need to get to that point

The fact that this traitor is not being prosecuted shows Germany still isn't taking up the role it should in protecting itself and Europe. It is also not even serous about tackling corruption. It is still suffering from the German disease (fearfulness, inaction, and addiction to luxury)

The support Russia, because Russia also opposes the rules based order

Even if someone did, Musk would be an unreliable ally to Ukraine

Crypto is for criming. Sad to see DM promoting it

The fact that the CEO is a buffoon who is drunk on power also has some

It has been known since before Trump that Europe is free riding on security. Obama also pointed it out
January 23, 2025 at 10:04 AM
In my view, we don't have many leaders in the West, only politicians who chase votes. Perhaps it should be turned around to: a failure of voters to insist to their politicians that they should support Ukraine as their number 1 priority

There's deep unwillingness in European states to face up to both the reality of Russian emnity and the de facto end of alliance with the US. This should be the clearest warning sign yet, though it, too, may be ignored.
