It seems to be peculiar to ChatGPT in its current iteration. I tried a similar prompt on Copilot and got this:

More puzzlingly, it gets weirder when it attempts to fix its mistake:

But using the same grammar as the original prompt above creates pretty much the same image as that one, including rhinos but insisting not. So it must be something in the model about the grammar of the prompt that does it.

Amazingly, ChatGPT insisted that it wouldn’t create an image of a rhino, kept prompting me for what it should be of instead, but I insisted ‘not a rhino’ and it gave me this:

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #2,714,061! And I still don’t quite know what to do here… needs about a billion more users I guess…
