Hot take: With the US withdrawal from WHO, cutting off 20% of their source of funds… there are places like Kakuma refugee camp that will fall to their knees. The healthcare system there is heavily reliant on NGOs and this is going to be very very tricky moving forward.

When you deploy Kubernetes, you usually begin your access with a certificate. It's easy, it's simple, it doesn't require a login, and it's a TERRIBLE IDEA!!!!! Friends don't let friends use certificates for accessing Kubernetes. For TBT, our blog post explains why!

Why is observability so hard to do well - and so expensive, in general? What is "Observability 2.0" and is Open Telemetry any good? With @mipsytipsy.bsky.social

1. Impact. How much revenue does my work protect or generate?

2. Quality. Does my work meet or exceed customer expectations?

3. Efficiency. Reward making the right buy versus build decision.

4. Reusability. How do others leverage my work?

5. Supportability. How much work do I create for others?
a question for the people who write code for money:

if you could wave a magic wand and have your performance/promotability measured on any 5 metrics of your choice, what would those metrics be?

Officially migrated all my notes from Notion to Obsidian 💎

Just finished installing the Excalidraw addon and now I have my system architecture diagrams right where I want them, beside my notes.

Migration was simple and direct. Obsidian’s minimalism and simplicity was just too hard to resist. 🚀

Google you are exactly who you think you are. 🫵

Whenever I want to read a whitepaper of any sort, I first upload it as a source onto NotebookLM and create a podcast episode real quick. Without even mentioning the 'upload a YouTube video' feature, I’ve already 10X my learning.

We wrote on Saturday about how Meta is going all-out to meet the threat of Bluesky: wapo.st/3OrYxBj

Today they took another step— finally allowing users to set their default feeds to a chronological “following” feed.
