Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic ✨
The following benefits greatly outweigh that one drawback:
- markdown-based format making it easy to move these notes to my future blog
- lightweight and snappy
- customization with plugins
- notion lacks enough depth to be regarded as a ’second brain’ 🧠

Great question Casen, and I appreciate your curiosity!

So far there’s only one feature I would have loved to have in Obsidian, which technically already exists, just behind a paywall. That’s the ability to sync my notes between my devices.

Other than that, I don’t miss notion at all.

This gives me a top-level overview of what I’m about to read. Like reading source material before attending a lecture in uni. It’s a hack. Listening to it as I do the dishes, on a walk, on my commute. Very worth it. I’m definitely going to commit to the plus version of this.

We talk about "paved roads" a lot in platform engineering, but paved roads don't get built where nothing existed previously. Paved roads get built over unpaved roads, unpaved roads get built over vehicle tracks, vehicle tracks get laid over footpaths, and footpaths form over animal trails.
