New Yorker, union activist, employment lawyer, dad, generational trauma ender. He/him.
There was already a major story about her having multiple affairs with guys at her gym including this person; I cannot imagine literally anything that would faze her.

Eh, it's not that uncommon. A bunch of tattoo artists specialize in it. It can look really cool if done properly.

I've never read anything quite like this book; I highly recommend it. It's a non- fiction account of the 1916 Easter Rising in Dublin, but written as if it were a Tom Clancy- type novel. It has all of the historical characters doing all of the things they did in real life, but inserts dialogue.

This dissent is perhaps the single most insane rambling I have ever seen released by a Federal judge. It's full of conspiracy theories about George Soros and personal insults to the majority's writer (a Trump appointee). This footnote appears on page SEVENTY EIGHT of the 104 page dissent:

A search for "Soros" in the dissent reveals 17 mentions. This footnote appears on page SEVENTY EIGHT of the dissent:

Look at this list of the ten largest public companies in the world by market cap and try to tell me that we're not in an absolutely unsustainable AI bubble. I see, essentially, Saudi Aramco and 9 AI companies.

You honestly don't even need to go back that far. I'm 5'11"; no man in my mother's family born before me was ever taller than 5'6". My wife is 5'7"; no man in her mom's family was ever taller than 5'6". My grandfather was born in 1916 and fought in WWII and was mayyyyybe 5'5".

So there's this weird Long Island thing (also done upstate in Oneonta) where pizza places take a pie fresh out of the oven, throw about a half pound of cold shredded mozzarella on it, and serve it that way. The idea is that the cold cheese keeps you from burning the roof of your mouth. It's gross.

My three favorite books are Pale Fire, Ulysses, and Catch-22, so this question speaks to me. But I would want the reporter to be genuinely confused, so I'm going with (limiting it to books I've actually read and could discuss at length):

Any time people start with the ephebophelia nonsense I want to point them to this quote by Nabokov about Lolita where he just fucking eviscerates an interviewer claiming that Humbert Humbert was the equivalent of 40 year olds marrying 20 year olds:
November 13, 2025 at 9:27 PM
The interviewer was the author Herbert Gold doing an interview for the Paris Review, and Nabokov was like "I could not possibly have made it clearer that Humbert Humbert was a monster."
November 13, 2025 at 4:42 PM
People have been misinterpreting Lolita since it came out and Nabokov was like "you're absolutely wrong; I wrote this to create a trap that you fell into and you should reflect on why you were so gullible about a monster."

Academic analysis of video games isn’t my jam, but I just bought this book to support @ckunzelman.bsky.social because I love the podcast he does with @ztul.bsky.social about Stephen King. I want to take a minute to talk about why King is so important to me, and why I love the podcast. Buckle up. 1/x

Reminds me of this fucking banger where a Federal agent thought that somebody was listing the firearms they were in possession of when they actually were just quoting a BIggie song.

I've always wanted to ask the ~10% of respondents who believe they could beat up an elephant what that would even look like.

A bit of electoral gamesmanship lost the Democratic candidate the Town Supervisor position for my town (basically the mayor of a town of over 200,000). The progressive Working Families Party got coopted a local MAGA group who ran a MAGA candidate who got enough votes to swing the election.
