After the vet visit earlier in the week, they said that he may have something growing in his abdomen. They wanted to perform a scan and a small operation to explore it further.

On our return home, he went straight to his safe space, and stayed for some time

We will take him back to the vet next week, and stay with him whilst he takes his final sleep.

He will be missed; really missed.

He doesn't appear to be in pain, but sadly, his quality of life is diminishing and his medical conditions are likely to cause more problems for him.

We've decided that we will keep him over the weekend, making as much a fuss of him as we can.

It now appears that he might have some arthritis in his back or legs; not too bad, but enough to cause him balance issues.

His eating pattern has changed; he sometimes seems to forget he ate and vocalises for more.

We think he may have developed a form of cat dementia.

It was found that he had a thyroid issue, as well as some kidney problems. Initially he responded to medication, but it seems that it is no longer effective.

He no longer uses the litter tray, and we have to put pads on the floor.

He stopped going outside and we had to reintroduce a litter tray. He doesn't like to play with his toys anymore.

He spends a lot more time in what he clearly considers his "safe spaces".

This handsome fellow is my partner's cat. We're not quite sure how old he is, but he has to be at least 18, possibly nearly 20.

Unfortunately, he's not been doing too well over the last 3-4 months.

I didn't know that hedgehogs could drive!

Shirley has her new car. She's not yet uses to it and is struggling a little bit.

Apparently, she's never reversed into parking spaces, and she's struggling to do so.

I've got to take her out for some driving practise ...

I won some books in a competition! (Jet2.com)

Thanks to Penguin Books for the delivery this morning. Some reading for our holiday later in the year.

Guess where I've been today ...

There's a Sea Shanty festival around Weston-super-Mare this weekend. Sat I'm the Fork & Ale listening to the Barnacle Buoys.

My niece Danni and her new husband Joe at their handfasting ceremony at the weekend.

The dress was hand made by Danni and her twin sister Alex. They used a lot of recycled pieces of fabric. The bottom comes away to make it a bit cooler.

Offered to strim the grass in front of the new local branch office.

There's rather a lot to do!

And there are lots of snacks to munch on when you donate!

Donated blood platelets at the Bristol Blood Donor Unit earlier.

They had a film crew on site to make an item about encouraging people to become Stem Cell Donors.

Snuggles the cat.

He's not very well at the moment; sadly, it looks as if he's at the end of his life (we don't know how old, but he's definitely over 17, probably 19 years.)

"Freeloading"?

He's absolutely clueless. Utterly unselfaware.

Well, it's a couple of weeks late, but apparently, mummy had the birthday card in her car and forgot to post the envelope!

My daffodils have been rather pathetic this year; just one actual flower.

But I planted a couple of apple trees about 6 weeks ago, and they are coming along nicely.

Took this picture earlier. A local open space where a large number of daffodils were planted decades ago. They've also added some crocus.

Just improves local people's lives; sharing to help others that aren't fortunate enough get a glimpse.
