Nobody has to reelect them and so we have so many opportunities to veto them if we want to. So how are we at their mercy? Why is it where everyone is just saying we have to pressure them and stuff when we could actually just stop electing them?

I care about victim rights more than any particular victim. I care about R2P more than any particular genocide. I care more about the superstructure of international diplomacy, policy, climate, & public health, than I do about individual issues like Gaza/Israel relations & the domestic minimum wage.

Since harms are frequent and high right now, and so glaringly avoidable, my emotional valence has ratcheted up. Proportion.
Trying to calm myself in the face of injustice is incredibly hard. It feels wrong to even try!
