This is absolutely insane.

More than $1bn a month of European social wealth transferred to US defence tech companies, massively intensifying the potential for war.

And no political leaders speaking out against it.

They may say it's not the most up to date version, but it is, JN.1, they are comparing it to mRNA versions.

As Catherine Connolly, and the movement behind her, has shown, neutrality remains popular. Something to build on, not abandon.

👀 Irish data centres are now using 22% of all electricity generated in Ireland, more than all urban homes combined & drawing an unquantified amount (lots) of Ireland’s water capacity

Could AI demands be related to recent push to fast-track infrastructure, side-step safeguards & reduce court access?
A new state-by-state evaluation of the projected energy and water use of "AI" data centers in the US. Looks… real bad. Like, "undoing tech sector climate gains" bad.

Strongly recommends immediately ensuring any & all new "AI" data centers to run on existing & expanded renewables grids. Which… yeah.

A final plug on here for our new investigation today, which found climate-impacting emissions are being released from data centres using off-grid generators.

We also uncovered how some planned data centres intend to be powered by natural gas in lieu of a grid connection due to capacity challenges.
Some planned data centres intend to be powered by natural gas because they cannot currently be connected to the grid as it is under such strain.

Climate experts say this will threaten Ireland's climate commitments.
