A single, Christian woman, I pray for peace, compassion, understanding, freedom, and justice for all people. I resist the oppression of small minds and cruelty so common in our politics. “Seriously?!” is my comment the past 8 years. 🤷‍♀️🤯🤬

Tyranny requires your fear and your silence and your compliance.

Democracy requires your courage.

“Not wavering” under the pressure of the White House actually is an achievement and one that’s worth praising.

It’d be nice if other media outlets cared about journalism enough to stand alongside them.
For the past week The AP has been trying to engage the Trump WH re: the "Gulf" ban. Today, I'm told, AP exec editor Julie Pace sat down with WH chief of staff Susie Wiles. AP is not wavering re: its editorial independence, so it seems unlikely anything was achieved in the meeting

What Would Jesus Do During Trump's Second Administration? He'd Stand With Rev. Budde.

The bullies always start by attacking those they perceive as weak. They do it to intimidate those they perceive to be strong. What they reveal, in this, is only their malice. Connect with others. Care for others. Protect others. Organize. And when you are in a strong position, counterpunch.
How does terrorizing farm workers, school kids and hard working immigrants make America great, especially when you release and pardon violent insurrectionists?

Are Democratic leaders making cities more dangerous than Republicans? Trump + others have repeatedly made claims like this. New paper in Science Advances w/ @chriswarshaw.bsky.social, Dan Jones & Matt Harvey shows that, in short, the answer is no.

In Georgia, a mom facing eviction reached out to DFCS for help. They offered her nothing. Soon the agency took her kids away because of "inadequate housing."

The state then paid *$6,200 a month* to house her kids in foster care.

One of the most important and infuriating stories I read this year:
When Families Need Housing, Georgia Will Pay for Foster Care Rather Than Provide Assistance
In more than 700 cases over five years, Georgia reported inadequate housing as the sole reason for taking a child into foster care, a WABE and ProPublica analysis found. Advocates say it would be chea...

Dear Democrats,

you could lead the world in post pandemic recovery. Fox News will tell everyone the economy is in crisis.

You could add millions of jobs. Elon will tell everyone the migrants are stealing them.

You have a massive information flow problem.

Deploy counter measures.

A Trump supporter can be a professed Christian—but they don't have any idea who Jesus is or anything he taught or they wouldn't be a Trump supporter.

If you are a Trump supporting-Christian go read the Sermon on the Mount and then pray.

This isn't between you and me, this is between you and Jesus.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but don’t doubt many who despise Trump will still find themselves normalizing his cruelty, hatefulness and madness. Because we humans naturally tend to adapt to our reality. It will require a daily effort to remember, oppose and stand up for decency & humanity.
