Today, about 100 faith and civil rights leaders gathered outside the Target in the Loop to demand that the company recommit to its DEI practices.

There’s been a national boycott of Target since January, and it has been called one of the most significant boycotts since the Montgomery bus boycott.

NEWS - The Chicago City Council finance committee voted 22-7 to approve GoodKids MadCity organizer Miracle Boyd's settlement.

Just in — Cook County Judge Carol Howard just ruled to overturn Tyrece Williams’ murder conviction.

He’s now the 50th person to have their conviction overturned in a case tied to ex-CPD Det. Reynaldo Guevara.

After the hearing, Williams told reporters that he was happy to have his name back.

A coalition of immigrant rights orgs and community resident packed the lobby of City Hall this morning. They are advocating against an amendment to the Welcoming City ordinances that if approved would allow CPD to cooperate w/ ICE.

So I’m covering today’s City Council meeting. We had to evacuate the City Hall due to an electrical fire on the Cook County side of the building. It’s been about 45 mins and we’re not back inside yet
