Tools for thoughts. Software for good. Made flowchart.fun and 1 and 1 million other things.
🌱 As part of my fellowship research, I built a tiny experiment called Prune.

It’s like journaling, but with branches.

Which tool (or mcp) have people had the most luck with in terms of adding knowledge/memory?

I rolled my own a while ago but I often have to remind my app to remember something, which totally defeats the purpose.

If one guy holds most of the tech people rely on, it is a vulnerability, but also it's one guy: as a global population we should be able to easily just take it from him, so it seems to me the real vulnerability is an internalized belief that private ownership is more sacrosanct than human thriving.
Musk threatens to shut off Starlink access if Ukraine won’t sign the minerals “deal”.

So many of us warned about Europe’s near-total tech dependence on the US. Deeply irresponsible to rely on the continued benevolence of an external actor for such vital systems. kyivindependent.com/us-threatens...

Techno Feudalism is incredible. Still working my way through it and will probably reread it too, but it has made me surer than ever that you can't put your energy (be it creativity, cultural artifacts or problem-solving/engineering) into systems you don't want to see reproduce
Haven't bought books in an embarrassingly long time. Big day!

Meta illegaly downloaded 80+ terabytes of books from LibGen, Anna's Archive, and Z-library to train their AI models.

In 2010, Aaron Swartz downloaded only 70 GBs of articles from JSTOR (0.0875% of Meta). Faced $1 million in fine and 35 years in jail. Took his own life in 2013.
