A reminder that psychiatric ill health is entirely distinct from being a rancid husk of a person
For years, they constructed notions of a "silent majority". So, when millions of blue-tick engagement-bots appeared overnight on X, they welcomed them as proof of the thesis, instead of asking: Who are all these people with 30 followers paying £100pa?

And A LOT of boats rowed A LONG way from shore.

There’s a special delight in reading the absurd reviews of obvious maniacs on otherwise overwhelmingly positive assessments of restaurants and hotels. Just saw one for a country hotel where someone had taken a photo of a doormat in autumn to complain about the dry leaves nearby.

The best kind of dog walk weather

I’m not sure there’s a living person I understand less than whoever decides what needs to be chilled at Gousto. Ciabatta? Fridge item. Half a cucumber? Nah, that’ll do fine at room temp.

A walk through the park with the youngling and came across this very dense webbed caterpillar nest - very cool, and can’t yet identify the species

I’m afraid if you saw the video of Musk as anything other than a deliberate Nazi salute you’re a moron or caping for a fascist. You pick which one - neither will redeem you.

In 2016 we adopted a stray that our two cats had befriended. He was un-neutered and in a rough shape, with an abscess above his eye and generally downtrodden. We named him Gershom, after the firstborn son of Moses whom he named that “because I have been a stranger is a strange land.”

Well I’ve had a lovely day in spite of the spouse being at work - I really should wake the child from her late nap and go for a dog walk though, lest bedtime be ruined.

I was reminded of this poem earlier (Love After Love/Derek Walcott) and, a bit like the Tom Holland Umbrella lipsync, I think it is a good rule to always re-share it when I am reminded of it

Self-compassion is one of the hardest things to achieve I think 🫂

[Why] is furosemide susceptible to malabsorption from "gut edema"?

When a patient with heart failure is hospitalized with congestion I often hear "let's use IV furosemide; they're probably not absorbing the PO."

It's a comment unique to furosemide.

But is it accurate?

For anyone who needs to hear it, The Lord of the Rings is a Christmas film (trilogy). The Fellowship leaves Rivendell on 25th December and the extended editions prolong the merriment, not least because of Merry.

Had a really nice time at the child's nursery Christmas party but as I often am after spending personal time with her in large groups, feeling a little bit sad about how many dads were in the room but not present with their children.
