I always find the Byzantine nonsense of navigating that place quite charming. You feel like you’ve accomplished something when you get to the right door.

He’d managed for that long after all. The lovely couple let us know where they’d found him and we had a couple of unsuccessful trips down looking for him. Today we got another phone call after he was located and… here he is. Scraggly and quite underweight, but home.

On New Year’s Day we recieved a call from our old vet - Gershom had been brought in, and while underweight he was basically well. We hadn’t answered immediately and the people who’d found him weren’t able to keep hold of him, so the vet suggested they let him go where they’d found him.

Around 3 months before we moved from London to Birmingham, Gershom disappeared. We’d never known how old he was, and because he’d been around pretty solidly I had always assumed that as cats often do, that he’d gone off to find a quiet place to die.

If you’re going cheap I’d recommend Regatta, if you’re a bit flush Barbour make some lovely waxed coats that’ll likely last you the rest of forever.

Should be an easy job tbh x
