Neal Katyal nailed this point in his opening statements. The next president can declare a climate emergency and start imposing taxes, etc.? Presumably not.

The single scariest part of the Trump Administration's argument is about emergency powers. The claim is essentially that the president can declare an emergency, and no court can review it, and when he does that, he gets all sorts of powers that the courts can't block.

Also, not good when a Supreme Court justice interrupts your interruption to say, "would you please just listen to my question?"

Not a great sign when the government lawyer says, "legally, they're basically the same" to make the argument that two things are in fact legally the same.
