I suppose that's one way of putting it, @nytimes.com. There are some "perils" to the executive branch adopting the view that it is not bound by law.

Here’s the federal building in Chicago. In the Loop, fenced off to keep people away. I have spent a lot of time walking around this place, and seeing this feels very dystopian.

The @washingtonpost.com has done a lot of bad reporting lately, helping the regime’s narrative. But this one really caught my eye. Kimmel didn’t talk about Kirk - he talked about the GOP using his assassination for political gain. And that’s why he was suspended. It should be reported that way.

More crackerjack reporting from the Washington (In the Bag) Post. No, it’s not unclear whether Trump can do this. It is clear he cannot, unless we’re all on board with the law not binding anything Dear Leader does.

These are the kinds of career events you see when you go read the Wikipedia pages of random mid-level operatives from authoritarian regimes of the past. Except that this one is for an American who an American president attempted (and failed) to install in the capital police force.

There is no bad news in the greatest country in the history of all of the universe.
In all seriousness, we used to worry about how handle time series when a pollster slightly tweaked question wording. Here, we’re going to face a multi-year gap in economic data.

“It was only supposed to be a temporary” thing. Hahaha. Be careful about pointing out Dear Leader’s shortcomings. I’m sure they’ll replace it with an exhibit about him winning three presidential elections.

Today, I drove through the vastness of eastern Wyoming. I passed the largest surface coal mine in North America, and I also passed a small wind farm. It gave me some food for thought about the claim that turbines are ugly and so we should be digging for more coal instead.

This is definitely not the kind of thing that US law allows a president to impose tariffs over. Good job, @nytimes.com making that ultra clear.

Here’s something to keep in mind when you read about the companies Trump has extorted by corrupt use of presidential power and solicited bribes as donations to his “future library.” Trump has been barred in the state of New York from running a charity.

Hey - the genius of American science created life-saving medical treatments, but the geniuses from Tesla and SpaceX fired everyone we need to administer them to patients. But, don’t worry, we’ve authorized hiring some contractors. They’ll be ready by Christmas, if your cancer hasn’t spread too far.

The Harvard lawsuit is well done, not unexpectedly. This little tidbit is great, though. I like it because it's yet another example of how sloppy the administration is. the fact that they don't even understand the laws they are using pre textually to attack their "enemies" is amazing.

This is insane. The lede’s use of passive voice give it away. The media is feeding the narrative here. When you read the story, the active sentences are all about the GOP talking about Biden. So, why is the headline about the Democrats?

Anyhow else remember Trump insisting that he could end the war in 24 hours? His supporters can’t blame his BS this time on the naïveté of being a political outsider. (He’s as swampy as they get!) But they’ll find another way to rationalize this one.

This is what's happening when the Trump administration appears in court. The lawyers say, "yes, the law enforcement agents and politicians broke the law." The judge asks, "what reason did they give?" And the lawyer says, "they won't say." The Administration is breaking the law with total impunity.

Seems like there are a few lawsuits where the White House has filed statements that Elon Musk has no role in DOGE. (Because they want to insulate him from discovery/reporting.) So, shouldn’t there be some hearings where things like these things come up?
