Australia and the Pacific were preparing for a strong ocean focus at COP31. The ocean community is still expecting a ‘blue COP’ next year. Whatever the host, keeping the ocean firmly on the agenda remains essential.

Modernising and decarbonising ports is a powerful yet underutilised strategy to combat climate change, improve public health, and protect ocean ecosystems. Ports can lead climate action by electrifying equipment, adopting clean fuels, & creating green shipping corridors.
