The first half of the pumpkins we carved this year.

The second half of the pumpkins we carved this year.

The probable site where Sir Francis Drake and crew landed on the California coast in 1579. Just inside the mouth of Drakes Bay, on the west side, easily reachable via Drakes Beach from the Kenneth C. Patrick Visitor Center at Point Reyes National Seashore.
In some overgrown brush stands a post with a sign tacked to it explaining that this is the site where Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hinde landed on June 17, 1579, and that the anchor below was presented to the Drake Navigators Guild in 1954 by the Royal Navy. The anchor is quite rusty now, and in front of that is a stone plaque erected by the Drake Navigators Guild in 1979 on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the landing.

@StephenM on X: Legal insurrection. The President is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, not an Oregon judge. Portland and Oregon law enforcement, at the direction of local leaders, have refused to aid ICE officers facing relentless terrorist assault and threats to life. (There are more local law enforcement officers in Oregon than there are guns and badges in the FBI nationwide). This is an organized terrorist attack on the federal government and its officers, and the deployment of troops is an absolute necessity to defend our personnel, our laws, our government, public order and the Republic itself.

In a parking lot sits a boxy convertible painted in the green and yellow of John Deere tractors with “John Deere” written just below the passenger side front door. Hanging from a bar between the front and back seats is a large disco ball. Several small disco balls hang from the rear view mirror.

We finally got our fireplace replaced, 10 years after the South Napa Earthquake took out the old one. The cat is enjoying it.

My mother's Tupperware Serve-ette tray and bowl, set #771-2. I think it was meant for veggies and dip, but my mother always served us grilled cheese and tomato soup with this set, so I wanted to get a photo of that on my most recent visit (except I made a more foodie version).
