On record the beats on the early stuff always sound kind of weedy to me which makes the lyrics come over as more petulant than intense

I’ve liked some of Reznor’s soundtrack work and he’s clearly a smart guy but I honestly can’t take NIN seriously

On YouTube there’s one where someone’s extended it to 8 minutes and while I absolutely get why you’d do that (and it has millions of views in its own right) for me the brevity is the point, good times are fleeting man!

This has somehow found its way into rotation at the Co-Op and every time I’ve been struck by how ludicrously out of place it is in a supermarket, it always sounds like the PA’s suddenly gone wrong

Very much cosy winter reading in mind - couple of Japanese crime novels, couple of reissued old horror novels, a book about children's literature and an appendix to the Dance re-read by the real actual X Trapnel

Oh also this show has the kid who is going to be the new Buffy star in it and she’s very good - I don’t have an opinion on Buffy old or new really but I know some people who do
