Before today's hearing that resulted in the DC chief retaining control of the city police, I joined a rally organized by @freedcproject.bsky.social outside police headquarters at Judiciary Square. People are angry, and willing to fight Trump's power grab so it won't spread to other cities. #freedc

People are frustrated and angry, but the crowd wasn't angry. Standing among tens of thousands of people at #HandsOff in DC, there was tremendous goodwill. Also felt completely safe. Don't let anyone tell you these protest movements are lawless or violent.

Thousands of people joined the #standupforscience2025 at the Lincoln Memorial in DC to hear scientists, cancer survivors, former agency heads, and union leaders. The mood was joyful and resolved. The science community knows the facts are on their side. They’ve faced skeptics and deniers before.
