The backsliding on vaccines is awful but the backsliding on basic germ theory is grim in its own way.
Yes, it's "natural" for humans and pets to eat raw meat. It's also just as "natural" to die from the numerous pathogens in it. That's nature; nature is always trying to kill you and your pet.

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

There's a great Behind the Bastards podcast episode on Dewey. The short version is that even by the standards of his time, Dewey was a racist & a sex pest. He got thrown out of the ALA in *1905* over his sexual harassment, & resigned from the NY state librarian position over his racism. He sucked.

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.
