When did the Pittsburgh Steelers move to Ohio?
How is the local Fox station in Columbus, Ohio showing the Steelers game instead of the home opener for the Cincinnati Bengals, which, last I checked, played in Ohio?

Announcers keep talking about Miami and Notre Dame’s “heated rivalry.” Tonight is only the 5th time they’ve played since 1990, and first time in 8 years.
All of us old folks know Miami-Notre Dame was an intense series during the 1980s, but if you only play 5 times in 35 years, how is that a rivalry?

Wrote about the Ohio 4-H Mobile Design Classroom, provided free to Ohioans statewide by The Ohio State University Extension. The bus, packed with technology, will visit 30 towns and cities in 26 counties throughout Ohio this year to provide tech access and STEM education.

Late last night I mapped crime rates for cities in OH, SC and WV to show how often they exceeded the rate in DC — where those states’ governors are sending National Guard troops to “combat crime.” www.pbump.net/o/more-peopl...
More people in Ohio need protection from violent crime than there are people in D.C.
Governors of three states — Ohio, South Carolina and West Virginia — are sending members of their state National Guards to D.C. to … well, theoretically to combat crime but, if the past week is any in...

ESPN opted out of its $550 million contract with Major League Baseball beginning next year.
ESPN signed a 5-year deal with WWE that averages $325 million a year.
It’s deemed better to show pro wrestling than baseball.
Yes, the “E” in ESPN stands for entertainment, but I grew up with baseball. Damn.

NCAA President Charlie Baker said said the NCAA has had “good conversations” with TV partners CBS and Warner Bros., whose deal runs through 2032 at the cost of around $1.1 billion a year.
Say goodbye to the NCAA bracket as we know and love it.
All life is a Monopoly game.

Recently had the pleasure of spending time with Dave Barker, member of Ohio State’s 1960 NCAA championship basketball team. He still wears the watch that teammates, including Jerry Lucas, John Havlicek, and Bob Knight, were awarded after winning the title. It still keeps perfect time 65 years later.

Congrats to my good friend John Clay on his announced retirement. We've known each other since the 1980s when I was sports editor of the Kentucky Kernel. John's had a tremendous career, & he's an even better person than a journalist. Rock on @johnclayiv.bsky.social
