Recently had the pleasure of spending time with Dave Barker, member of Ohio State’s 1960 NCAA championship basketball team. He still wears the watch that teammates, including Jerry Lucas, John Havlicek, and Bob Knight, were awarded after winning the title. It still keeps perfect time 65 years later.

Sat across from this elderly man on a train ride in Germany two months ago. He never spoke but seemed serene as we headed toward the Bavarian Alps. I’ve been thinking about him on this gray Monday. What’s his story? I wish I could write it.
