One day there's a new star in the sky. Then over the course of a couple months it gets brighter. Then it's bright enough to see during the day. Then one day you're looking up, and one second it's pretty bright and the next the world has ended and everything is on fire.

Similarly, since the time this film was made of the Francesco Maglia workshop in Milan — another top-tier manufacturer — the proprietor Francesco has retired. The 171 year old business is now run by his brother Giorgio and nephew, another Francesco. One wonders if there will be another successor.

So while we're screaming "don't touch Medicaid", the Republican base is saying "if you're gonna touch Medicaid, make sure you tell me how you're gonna take care of me when it's gone." It's a completely different conversation. One that is much more politically tractable.

Ralph Fiennes is in this movie! Ain't no way he knew what was about to happen. He's only in the good parts. He's probably livid about the other half of the film they put him in. If I was him, I would be trying to sue somebody.

When pundits argue that Trump will back down when he understands the destruction he is creating, they may be very wrong: Because it may be destruction and chaos that he seeks.

In his mind, this is what may be needed to "make America great again."
