Here in the UK, authors receive modest payments if their books are borrowed from libraries. I try and borrow a random selection of books, alongside the ones I actually want to read, to support less successful writers. For some reason, I empathise with them

Today we opposed the Far Right who had wanted to march on the Women’s Hospital and the African Caribbean Centre in Liverpool. We prevented them.

This is Missy, and she was with me as I celebrated eight years of sobriety. Dogs became a huge part of my solution, and Missy, aged six, doesn’t even know I’m a non-practicing alcoholic. I also need to acknowledge the role I myself played in my recovery after thirty years of alcohol abuse. I’m a fuckin’ legend 💥

Today I went to protest the continued imprisonment of Lucy Letby, a nurse wrongly convicted of seven baby murders here in the UK.

An international panel of medical experts has agreed there is NO EVIDENCE of murder, only evidence of systemic failures and poor practice.

Ancient Corinth - a Roman Temple’s columns still rise amid the ruins of this incredible archaeological site. Each column is a single carved rock. Those Romans didn’t fuck about Ancient Corinth- A view across the archaeological site. These ruins are from the Roman era. They destroyed the original Greek city, before Julius Caesar had it rebuilt, making it the centre of the Greek Roman Empire. We’re not allowed to discuss Corinth without saying “isthmus” Archaeological ruins in Ancient Corinth, which is situated several miles from the new town, repositioned in response to earthquakes. I hiked it, walking from the train station, down through the town, to the coast. I then walked along the shore for about a mile, before heading inland again to the ruins. I met several goats and lots of dogs. Anyone still reading this needs to take a long hard look at their priorities
